Apologies, but Adele Nozedar has had to cancel at short notice due to a friend’s funeral. However, she has her own foraging walk planned for 30th June in Abergavenny. You can claim a special rate of £25 instead of £35 (please mention that you are claiming the discount through the Hengoed Happiness & Wellbeing Group). Join us for an enchanting afternoon of exploration, learning, and creativity amidst the breathtaking beauty of the Brecon Beacons. Garwnant Visitor Centre is situated within 400 acres of woodland on the northern side of Llwyn-on Reservoir.

Date: Saturday, 8th June 2024

Time: 2pm to 6pm

Location: Garwnant Visitor Centre, Cwmtaf, Merthyr Tydful CF48 2HU.
Garwnant Visitor Centre is 5 miles north of Merthyr Tydfil and is well signposted from the A470. The Visitor Centre is 500m from the A470 up a gentle slope.

Event Cost:
• Standard Ticket: £20 (with £10 non-refundable deposit)
• Premium Members of Hengoed Happiness and Wellbeing Group: £15 (£7.50 non-refundable deposit)
• Children under age 16: £10 (payable in full on booking).

 

Event Highlights:

2:00 PM – 4.00 PM: Foraging Walk & Talk Embark on a captivating journey through nature’s pantry as Adele Nozedar shares her profound knowledge of local flora. Discover edible treasures hidden in plain sight and learn about their historical and culinary significance during this invigorating 2-hour walk.

4.00 PM – 5.00 PM: Drawing Plants Workshop Unleash your creativity as we return to the visitor centre. Engage in a hands-on workshop where you’ll have the chance to capture the essence of the foraged plants through drawing. No prior artistic experience required – just a curious spirit!

☕ After-event Gathering: Indulge in well-deserved refreshments at the visitor centre’s cozy café, where we will have the space to ourselves for an extended opening. Share your foraging experiences, connect with fellow participants, and revel in lively conversations. Coffee, cake, and snacks available to purchase.

About Adele Nozedar

Adele Nozedar is an author, forager and educator. She has written several books about the subject, 2 of which are best sellers in both the UK and USA. She has spoken at several literary festivals including the Hay Festival and has featured in numerous radio and TV programmes, including with Sandi Toksvig, Jenny Eclair, and Countryfile, with renowned rugby player Gareth Williams on the Brecon and Monmouth Canal, Terry Wogan and many many more. She is also the only forager to be featured in The Lonely Planet Guide.
